The Semiahmoo First Nation in British Columbia is joining forces with a Vancouver-based scientist and hoping to appeal to the public to help crowdfund a study to determine whether the clams in their Community are safe to harvest and eat again. This is a relatively new “hybrid model” for funding these activities that could benefit smaller-scale projects in the future.
